Day 1 – Wednesday, April 28, 2027 - Arrival in Lexington

Make your way to the beautiful 4-star Marriott Griffin Gate Golf Resort & Spa, your home for the next four nights. Located in the heart of Lexington, Kentucky's famous Bluegrass region, the resort is just 75 minutes from Churchill Downs, the legendary home of the Kentucky Derby.

Set amongst rolling countryside, the resort features a Rees Jones-designed championship golf course, full-service spa, fitness center, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, pickleball courts, and scenic walking trails. It provides the perfect setting to relax and unwind between the excitement of Derby Week.

This evening, join your fellow travellers for a Kentucky-inspired Welcome Reception featuring local flavors, refreshing drinks, and the opportunity to meet your tour hosts and fellow guests.

Day 2 – Thursday, April 29, 2027 - Thoroughbred Country Tour

Following breakfast, we begin our Ultimate Derby Experience with an unforgettable journey into the heart of Kentucky's world-famous horse racing industry.

Our first stop is historic Keeneland Race Course, one of America's most respected Thoroughbred racetracks. Founded in 1936, Keeneland is renowned for its stunning grounds, iconic stone architecture, and rich racing heritage. During our visit, you'll enjoy an overview of the track's fascinating history and witness the morning workouts as future champions prepare for their racing careers.

Next, we travel through the picturesque Bluegrass countryside to visit one of Kentucky's premier Thoroughbred stud farms. Here you'll meet the people behind the operation and get up close to some of the industry's most celebrated stallions.

After a lunch stop (at your own expense), we continue to a second renowned stud farm, gaining further insight into why Kentucky is considered the Horse Capital of the World. Throughout the day you'll learn about breeding, training, and the traditions that have made this region synonymous with Thoroughbred excellence.

This evening is yours to enjoy at leisure, making the most of the resort's outstanding facilities.

Day 3 – Friday, April 30, 2027 - Kentucky Oaks Day

Today we head to Louisville for the first of two unforgettable days at Churchill Downs. Be sure to dress to impress, as Oaks Day is one of the most fashionable and celebrated events on the racing calendar.

Before arriving at the track, we'll visit the world-famous Woodford Reserve Distillery for a guided tour and tasting experience. Learn about the craftsmanship behind one of Kentucky's most iconic bourbons and sample a selection of their finest products.

We then continue to Churchill Downs, where your premium hospitality package includes all-inclusive food and beverages throughout the day. Enjoy a full programme of racing culminating in the prestigious Kentucky Oaks, affectionately known as the "Lilies for the Fillies," the premier race for three-year-old fillies.

After an exciting day at the races, we return to Lexington for the evening.

Day 4 – Saturday, May 1, 2027 - Kentucky Derby Day

The moment you've been waiting for has arrived—Kentucky Derby Day.

We'll transfer to Churchill Downs early, allowing you to soak up the incredible atmosphere and experience all the traditions, pageantry, and excitement that make the Kentucky Derby one of the world's greatest sporting events.

Your premium hospitality package once again includes all-inclusive food and beverages, ensuring a first-class experience throughout the day. Enjoy an outstanding card of racing leading up to the 153rd running of the Kentucky Derby, where twenty of the finest three-year-old Thoroughbreds compete for racing immortality.

Whether you're celebrating a winning bet or simply absorbing the spectacle, the memories of Derby Day will stay with you forever.

Following the conclusion of the day's racing, we return to the resort for our final evening.

Day 5 – Sunday, May 2, 2027 - Departure Day

After one final breakfast at the resort, it's time to check out and begin your journey home.

Depart with unforgettable memories of Kentucky's beautiful Bluegrass country, exclusive Thoroughbred experiences, world-class hospitality, and the thrill of attending one of sport's most iconic events—the Kentucky Derby.

 Travel Insurance

Buy travel protection from Travel Insured International

We always recommend you take out Travel Insurance and below we've listed just some of the reasons why:

  1. Life is unpredictable. Some trips need to be cancelled.
With the right travel insurance, you won't have to pay for a trip you are unable to take.
  2. Most lost luggage takes five days to return to its owner.
Travel insurance provides coverage to replace needed items right away.
  3. Lost or forgotten medication?
Travel insurance will assist you in locating a pharmacy to purchase a new prescription.
  4. Travelers stateside and abroad can become ill or injured during their trip.
Travel insurance can provide peace of mind – especially for travel outside the United States, where many hospitals request cash payments in the thousands before treatment can even begin.
  5. Health insurance may not go the distance.
The majority of health insurance (including Medicare), worker’s compensation insurance, third-party and personal liability policies don’t cover international travel. In fact, a closer look at the inside of your passport will reveal that the government recommends travel insurance when traveling outside the United States.
  6. In the event of a natural disaster, airline strike or act of terrorism, airlines will not refund the cost of your ticket. Travel Insurance plans can cover the cost and help you get home quickly and safely.
  7. Credit card coverage, homeowners and auto insurance, none of these provide sufficient coverage for travel. Even combined, they may not offset the cost of a medical emergency overseas.
  8. In the unlikely case of supplier default. If a cruise line, airline or other travel provider ceases operations, travel insurance saves you from paying for a trip you'll really never get to take.
  9. We all experience tough economic times.
The loss of a job or other income might mean a trip planned in advance may have to wait. Travel insurance puts cash back into your hands when you need it most.
