Day 1 – Tuesday, 10 November

Upon arrival in Helsinki, you’ll be greeted by your tour hosts in the arrivals hall. They will assist you with your transfer to the hotel for your five-night stay. You’ll be staying at the 4 star Hilton Helsinki Strand, ideally located on the waterfront just 250 meters from the city’s main metro station. The remainder of the day is yours to relax or begin exploring Helsinki at your own pace. In the evening, we’ll meet at 6:00 PM at the hotel for a welcome reception, featuring drinks and substantial appetizers.

Day 2 – Wednesday, 11 November

After breakfast, we set out on a guided sightseeing tour of Helsinki. Highlights include a private, behind-the-scenes visit to the Helsinki Olympic Stadium, host of the 1952 Summer Games, and a short 15-minute ferry ride to explore the historic Suomenlinna sea fortress. In the evening, you have the option to attend a Liiga hockey game at the iconic Helsinki Ice Hall.

Day 3 – Thursday, 12 November

Today is a free day to explore Helsinki at your leisure. For those seeking an additional adventure, you may choose to take an express train to the nearby city of Tampere (approximately 1 hour 45 minutes each way) to visit Finland’s Hockey Hall of Fame. Be sure to return in time for the late afternoon group meet-up as we head to our pregame Icegate Party. Enjoy food, drinks, and entertainment just outside the arena before heading inside for the first of two NHL games, where the Seattle Kraken face off against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Day 4 – Friday, 13 November

Today is free for you to enjoy as you wish. Alternatively, we highly recommend joining the optional day trip to Tallinn, Estonia. This excursion begins early with a transfer to the ferry terminal for a two-hour journey aboard a luxury vessel, complete with restaurants, bars, and shopping. Upon arrival in Tallinn, you’ll take part in a guided walking tour of the beautifully preserved medieval Old Town, dating back to the 13th century. You’ll then have free time to enjoy lunch and further explore at your own pace before returning on the late afternoon ferry, arriving back in Helsinki at approximately 6:30 PM.

Day 5 – Saturday, 14 November

Enjoy a free day to continue exploring Helsinki in more depth. In the early evening, we’ll regroup and head to the arena for the second NHL game, where the Carolina Hurricanes once again take on the Seattle Kraken.

Day 6 – Sunday, 15 November
After breakfast, we transfer to Helsinki Airport for our internal flight to Rovaniemi, located in the Arctic Circle and known as the official hometown of Santa Claus. This region is also one of the best places in the world to witness the spectacular Northern Lights.

Upon arrival, we’ll take a short 15-minute transfer to our hotel for the next two nights. You’ll be staying at the remarkable Apukka Resort, renowned for its signature glass igloos, offering the chance to experience the Northern Lights from the comfort of your own cabin.

This evening, after an included dinner, we head out on a special Aurora hunting excursion, venturing into the wilderness in search of the breathtaking Aurora Borealis.

Day 7 – Monday, 16 November

Following breakfast, enjoy some free time to relax, take in the stunning surroundings, or optionally visit the nearby town. After lunch, we’ll come together for a special group activity, where you’ll learn more about the traditions and culture of Finnish Lapland. The evening is free for you to enjoy at leisure. If you’d like another opportunity to see the Northern Lights, additional Aurora hunting excursions can be arranged directly through the hotel.

Day 8 – Tuesday, 17 November

After breakfast, we transfer to the airport for our return flight to Helsinki, where you will connect with your onward journey home.

 Travel Insurance

Buy travel protection from Travel Insured International

We always recommend you take out Travel Insurance and below we've listed just some of the reasons why:

  1. Life is unpredictable. Some trips need to be cancelled.
With the right travel insurance, you won't have to pay for a trip you are unable to take.
  2. Most lost luggage takes five days to return to its owner.
Travel insurance provides coverage to replace needed items right away.
  3. Lost or forgotten medication?
Travel insurance will assist you in locating a pharmacy to purchase a new prescription.
  4. Travelers stateside and abroad can become ill or injured during their trip.
Travel insurance can provide peace of mind – especially for travel outside the United States, where many hospitals request cash payments in the thousands before treatment can even begin.
  5. Health insurance may not go the distance.
The majority of health insurance (including Medicare), worker’s compensation insurance, third-party and personal liability policies don’t cover international travel. In fact, a closer look at the inside of your passport will reveal that the government recommends travel insurance when traveling outside the United States.
  6. In the event of a natural disaster, airline strike or act of terrorism, airlines will not refund the cost of your ticket. Travel Insurance plans can cover the cost and help you get home quickly and safely.
  7. Credit card coverage, homeowners and auto insurance, none of these provide sufficient coverage for travel. Even combined, they may not offset the cost of a medical emergency overseas.
  8. In the unlikely case of supplier default. If a cruise line, airline or other travel provider ceases operations, travel insurance saves you from paying for a trip you'll really never get to take.
  9. We all experience tough economic times.
The loss of a job or other income might mean a trip planned in advance may have to wait. Travel insurance puts cash back into your hands when you need it most.
