Day 1 Thursday 13th November

Arrive at Stockholm’s International Airport (Arlanda) where you’ll be met by an STT Tour host in the arrivals hall. You’ll then be driven to our host hotel, the wonderful Radisson Blu Royal Viking right in the heart of Stockholm. You’ll have a chance to walk around the city a little, before we host our welcome reception with food and drinks included, where you’ll get to meet your fellow travelers.

Day 2 Friday 14th November

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we’ll meet for your introduction to the sights of Stockholm with our full day city tour. Boasting 700 years of history, Stockholm is home to grand public buildings, Royal Palaces as well as an array of museums. You’ll enjoy the breathtaking views of the Baltic Sea as we stop in the Old Town with its colorful buildings making it a fairytale destination. At the end of the tour, we’ll head back to the hotel to change and then we’ll head over to the Avicii Arena for our pregame hospitality for 2 hours before the Penguins take on the Predators in the highly anticipated game 1. The hospitality will be open for 1 hour after the game and then we’ll head back to the hotel for a well-earned rest.

Day 3 Saturday 15th November

The day is free for you to explore the city on your own, take time to visit a museum or two, included in your package is a step back into the 1970’s with the ABBA Museum. We also recommend the Vasa Museum, which is a maritime which displays the only almost fully intact 17th century ship that has ever been salvaged, he 64-gun warship Vasa which sank on her maiden voyage in 1628. The evening is free to try some of Sweden’s traditional foods.

Day 4 Sunday 16th November

You’re free to explore or maybe take a traditional Sauna to refresh your body. If you’re feeling energetic why not try Ice skating on one of the outdoor rinks. Then we meet again at the hotel in the afternoon for our second trip out to the Avicii Arena for game 2. We begin again with pregame hospitality and end with post-game drinks in the arena.

Day 5 Monday 17th November

After one final breakfast your driver will take you back to the airport for your journey home.

 FAQ

Q: What entry requirements are there to travel to Sweden?

A: If you hold a full US passport, and your stay in Sweden will be 90 days or less, you do NOT require a visa to enter Sweden. However, your passport must have an ‘expiry date’ at least 3 months after the date you arrive. If you do not hold a full US passport then please contact Sports Travel Tours for advice on next steps.

Q: Are Flights Included in this package?

A: NO Flights are not included with this package; you have the option to either call us to get a quote for flights to add to this package or you can book the flights yourself.

Q: If we book flights ourselves what dates and arrival and departure times should we use?

A: Firstly, please make sure all flights arrive and depart from Stockholm Arlanda Airport. Secondly for this trip you will need to depart from the US on Wednesday afternoon/evening (most flights are overnight from the US arriving on the morning of Thursday). Ideally your flight should arrive into Stockholm between 7am and 2pm

Q: If I decide to add extra nights will you still provide airport transfers?

A: Yes, providing the extra nights are booked through us as the pricing of the transfer is built into the extra night prices. If you choose to book another hotel for the extra nights, then you will be responsible for your own journey to/from the airport.

Q: What time should I depart on the last day of the trip?

A: You are free to depart at any time on the final day of the trip as most flights depart Stockholm to the US in the morning, we don't schedule any activity for that final day. Breakfast begins at the hotel at 6.30am so if your flights leave early in the morning then you will miss this final meal.

Q: What time can I check into my room?

A: Check in time at the hotel is from 3pm onwards. When you arrive at the hotel you'll meet your tour host at our hospitality desk located in the lobby, and they will assist with the check in process. As you will arrive earlier than the check in time, the hotel will allow you to store your bags in a secure room until the room is ready, and you'll be free to start exploring the local area whilst this is being done.

Q: What clothes will I need for the trip?

A: Unfortunately, there is no correct answer to this question, Stockholm's weather is notoriously changeable so we recommend keeping an eye on the forecast in the days leading up to the trip, but still pack a selection of clothing as forecasters do it get it wrong! One thing that is important is that you pack comfortable shoes. Stockholm is a walking city, and even with our fantastic Hop on Hop off Bus Tour in order to make the most of your time you'll definitely need to walk!

Q: When/how will I get my game tickets?

A: All game tickets for the game are expected to be mobile entry. You will need a cell phone with access to data (please ask your provider about international plans ahead of your trip). On arrival your tour host at the reception desk will assist you in downloading the ticket onto your phone. Please note, you will be provided with the exact location of your seat approximately 2 weeks prior to your departure, however we can only transfer your ticket when you arrive at the hotel in London.

 Travel Insurance

Buy travel protection from Travel Insured International

We always recommend you take out Travel Insurance and below we've listed just some of the reasons why:

  1. Life is unpredictable. Some trips need to be cancelled.
With the right travel insurance, you won't have to pay for a trip you are unable to take.
  2. Most lost luggage takes five days to return to its owner.
Travel insurance provides coverage to replace needed items right away.
  3. Lost or forgotten medication?
Travel insurance will assist you in locating a pharmacy to purchase a new prescription.
  4. Travelers stateside and abroad can become ill or injured during their trip.
Travel insurance can provide peace of mind – especially for travel outside the United States, where many hospitals request cash payments in the thousands before treatment can even begin.
  5. Health insurance may not go the distance.
The majority of health insurance (including Medicare), worker’s compensation insurance, third-party and personal liability policies don’t cover international travel. In fact, a closer look at the inside of your passport will reveal that the government recommends travel insurance when traveling outside the United States.
  6. In the event of a natural disaster, airline strike or act of terrorism, airlines will not refund the cost of your ticket. Travel Insurance plans can cover the cost and help you get home quickly and safely.
  7. Credit card coverage, homeowners and auto insurance, none of these provide sufficient coverage for travel. Even combined, they may not offset the cost of a medical emergency overseas.
  8. In the unlikely case of supplier default. If a cruise line, airline or other travel provider ceases operations, travel insurance saves you from paying for a trip you'll really never get to take.
  9. We all experience tough economic times.
The loss of a job or other income might mean a trip planned in advance may have to wait. Travel insurance puts cash back into your hands when you need it most.
